A Group Garden in Salter? Read On!

Would you like to have your own garden next summer? We’re looking into trying a Salter Square community garden. I am proposing raised beds, 8-10 inches in height, 4 ft. x 6 ft.

One of the areas I have in mind is located in the large field at the southeast corner (March / Campeau). There is water accessible close by.

There would be a fee for anyone who wishes to have a plot. This fee would cover the cost of soil, seeds, shared equipment like multi-faucet, hose holder, hose, wood & supplies to create the beds and composter, etc. Based on ten gardens, the cost would be approximately $500, giving a cost per plot of $50. Of course, we also need your help in getting the plot ready!

Our GOAL is to have the beds prepared and ready for spring planting by the end of November. If you would be interested or would like to assist in the planning, please contact Kitty Langill at 613-592-3113. E-mails can be sent to board@saltersquare.ca
